Building Collective Power
Democracy thrives when every voter, especially those from marginalized communities, can freely cast their ballot.
No single organization can create systemic change alone — true transformation comes through collective action. In 2024, VCET strengthened its partner network, fostering deeper collaboration and shared strategy to amplify progressive impact across Virginia. Through coalition-building, resource-sharing, and strategic convenings, we equipped 64 partners with the tools and support needed to mobilize communities effectively.
This year, VCET enhanced its data and technology offerings, providing partners with expanded access to VAN and direct voter contact tools to scale outreach efforts. Our new partner engagement initiatives included monthly strategy calls to align grassroots organizing efforts, statewide convenings to strengthen national and local collaborations, and a comprehensive digital organizing toolkit to equip partners with best practices in outreach and mobilization.
Whether fighting legislative rollbacks or mobilizing communities around key elections, our collective power-building efforts fortified Virginia’s progressive infrastructure and positioned us for continued victories in the years ahead.
How We Support the VCET Partner Network
At VCET, we strengthen Virginia’s progressive infrastructure by supporting our partner organizations in ways that are timely, strategic, and community-driven:
1. Convening Power
We create space for meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and even disagreement — because real progress requires alignment, not uniformity. Recognizing a critical need to align vision and strategy across Virginia’s progressive movement, VCET is hosting a statewide Summit to strengthen relationships and deepen collective power.
2. Capacity Support
We show up where we’re needed most — quickly filling gaps in capacity so organizations can meet the moment. Whether it’s communications, tech, or strategy, we help keep the wheels turning.
3. Rapid Response Resources
We equip our partners with toolkits, templates, and up-to-the-minute guidance on pressing issues, from policy threats to misinformation, so they can respond with clarity and confidence.
4. Targeted Regrants
In moments of democratic crisis, we move resources swiftly to the frontlines — where voter suppression is unfolding or urgent action is needed to protect rights and community safety.
